Come on, I dare you to join the Ultimate Blog Challenge with me!

We start January 1st.

Here's the deal.  Every quarter, Michele Scism and I host a month long challenge celebration for bloggers.  (Yes, I've decided to call it a celebration this time!)

The goal is to post once to your blog for every day of the month.  So 31 posts by the end of January.

Why the heck would anyone do this?  Over the years we've run this challenge I've heard dozens of reasons from "just to prove I can" to "creating content for my next ebook/book" to "more traffic!" and many others.

Here are 10 reasons why YOU should join us:

  1. It's free.  Can't beat that.
  2. We'll send you a daily email with blogging ideas (they're already scheduled and ready to go, with over 100 ideas total!).  Put these in a folder and feel the stress melt away as you know where to go next time writer's block tries to attack.
  3. You get to join a fabulous community of bloggers who connect on Facebook and Twitter to support each other.
  4. With writing every day, you learn to write faster and stay focused.
  5. We help you learn to promote your posts consistently by reminding you to get out there and share them after you've written them.  Form good habits!
  6. You'll walk away with lots more content that you can then repurpose into other things (ebooks, books, giveaways, teleseminars, infographics, seriously this list could go on and on).
  7. You'll stretch yourself and prove you can create valuable content more often than you thought.
  8. You can submit your blog to be listed in the directory and list yourself as a member on the UBC website (links!).
  9. It's a great way to build relationships and find other bloggers you can connect with beyond the challenge--for JVs, guest blog posts, and more.
  10. It's FUN!  Consider it a daily opportunity to celebrate your right to freedom of speech, freedom of thought, freedom to create your own business, and the ability to broadcast to the world via the internet.

    Michelle…
I want to! Really. I want to! I simply don't have a clue how I would do it and I hate to be half-as**d with anything… I am coming up on my second year blogging and really work hard to post three times a week… that doesn't always work! I also try to average 1-2 guest posts a month on other sites as well as the newsletter and Chisana News Wire once a month. (sigh) No, I am not whining! I really do want to do more… but I have read blogs of all kinds for these last two years on line, in all sorts of circles, businesses and mindsets… I do not want to post lame. I want to Stay the Path, stay focused on my ultimate goal as well as continue to improve, myself, intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and professionally.

I jumped into this blogging pool with both feet when I decided to learn enough to create the website I wanted the world to see… The hardest thing I have come up against is that our business is so different than any good example available … I am left with wingin' it and trying to take the lessons learned and twisting them to fit with our business.

Had to come over and tell you I want to be part of this! (Yes, now I am whining…!)

      Hey Amber-Lee,

My two cents – jump in even if you don't think you'll be blogging every day. ;) You'll still make great connections with other bloggers, get blogging ideas that may work for you, and have a blast. :)

There's no failure — whether you post 5 times or 31 times, if you add content to your blog, comment on other blogs, make connections, and get more traffic, that's success!

Michelle, thanks so much for running this challenge, I mean, celebration! Great update in the name! I've participated twice and gotten almost to 31 posts.

The most unexpected benefit for me has been that I write much more quickly now. Also, it is actually easier to write when I'm doing it every day; my brain stays in Create Mode and comes up with topics several times a day. Also, I have made several good friends out of the UBC. We share a lot of support, and they are a great joy to me.

I so appreciate your posts! Looking forward to the January UBC!

I find the same thing, Kebba! I write MUCH more quickly now than I did before I started doing blog challenges. :)

And that's awesome to hear. Some of my best blogging friends I connected with in the first blogging challenge I participated in, and that was something like 3 years ago.

Well I am intrigued. I have a blog and only write when I feel inspired or have a point of view I feel passionate about to share. This I find interesting as a challenge. A challenge I am a lover of and am also a great believer of celebrating achievments. You have caught me on both accounts. I am curious as to what I would write about each day. However I am interested to discover what I will come up with.
Thank you for the invitation. I accept.

I've decided to try this celebration to start the year with a major push to resuscitate my blog. I really enjoy your posts and videos, and I'm looking forward to receiving the post ideas in my email.

I'm really hoping that I can stick with this. I think it will help my blog if I can focus enough attention to publish 31 days of posts. And hopefully it will help to cultivate a good posting habit.

Time now to look at my calendar to work out my initial writing schedule and post ideas.

    I'm excited to try! Thanks.

I'll tell you how I'm doing it. I'm going through the masses of trainings I've created over the past year and using that as ideas for my blog posts.

This is the first time I've heard of this celebration. I've had a blog for years but haven't posted as regularly as I should. My plan for the new year is to be consistent on my blog. My blog is the foundation for building my credibility and showing my skills. I firmly believe it will be one of the the keys to my success this year.

I'm intrigued with the notion that this exercise could make writing easier. I love to write and am fairly good at it, but I tend to get caught up in the "perfection" of it.

    Good luck to everyone!

So Im in for 2013 as my something new to do. Thanks for doing these challenges, I just dont know if I can get through everyone, but Im not going to let that stop me from starting.

    Looking forward to it
