33 Ways to Monetize Your Blog [Infographic]

By Michelle Shaeffer | 8 Comments

Imagine spending a few minutes a day sharing your thoughts on a blog… and then the money pouring into your PayPal account…

*smack*

Dream over.  Wake up!

That’s not the way blogging works.  It takes EFFORT and TIME to make money with a blog.  If you’re looking for a “get rich quick” opportunity scheme, or a “make money while you’re sleeping–tomorrow!” type thing, then blogging isn’t for you.

But if you’re looking for a way to build an income or a business and are willing to put your energy into creating something awesome, then blogging can be one of the tools you use to make that reality.

And, you CAN make money while you’re sleeping, once you get things setup and rolling.

The bloggers I know who are making money at this are dedicated, focused, and goal-oriented.  We wouldn’t invest the time in blogging if it wasn’t paying off.

Now that we’ve made sure you aren’t in dream-land, and you and I are on the same page, here are some of the simple ways that you can monetize your blog.  Some depend more than others on the traffic and audience you’ve built, so be aware of that and consciously focus on building your blog every day.

One smart step in the right direction is to join me for the 5 Day Blog Promo Blitz!   Get the details here.

Great post! I am a long time lurker around here. I think I will be doing the suggestion regarding paid directory and job posts. My blog is pretty slow in getting traffic lately so I must work on that first. Anyways thank you so much for the tips.

    Hey Michelle,

It is really very informative Infographics. There are many different ways to generate money with our website online. Building a website is the most common way affiliates launch ourself into the affiliate marketing world, and if we’re interested in creating a long-term business we’ll inevitably need to put together a website.

We can join affiliate programs, create ads for their products, and send click-throughs directly to the merchant’s site. Eventually, thanks for revealing a light on this topic.

    With best wishes,

    Amar kumar

    Hi Michelle,
This is an exhaustive list of monetization methods. You should ideally have titled it as “exhaustive” because it has pretty much every monetization method you could think off.
Flipping is one of my favorite methods. If one right, it can help you make good money for about 7-10 days of work. Pick an expired high DA domain with some good backlinks, put up a nice site and add some decent content, promote it for a couple of days on Facebook to generate some traffic and you could easily sell it for around $900-$1000. I have sold quite a few such blogs and I keep doing it whenever I am in need of some quick money.
    Interesting infographic and post.

    Cheers,
    Dilip

Hi. I love the fact that you put so many of these info graphic posts together. However, may I ask if you have the info in list form as well? I am not able to see the graphics, and so cannot read and take advantage of the information.
