$5 – Entrepreneurial Thinking

By Michelle Shaeffer | 2 Comments

Today I want to share a fantastic video from Stanford University’s Entrepreneurship Corner that offers a great look at how to think more like an entrepreneur.  (Thank you to Shel Horowitz for sharing this video with me.)

Thinking outside the box.  Changing the rules.  Not allowing yourself to be limited to by the “means” you’ve got.  Check it out.  Then think about the problems or challenges you’re facing in your business and try to look at them from a different perspective.

So, what’d you think?  Spark any cool ideas?  Thinking you’ve got resources or skills you can utilize that you might have overlooked before?  Share your thoughts in the comments below.

Want even more great ideas for entrepreneurs and small businesses?  I encourage you to take time to view the rest of the 6 part series at http://ecorner.stanford.edu/authorMaterialInfo.html?mid=2268

And you can find a wealth of information and resources free at http://ecorner.stanford.edu/index.html There are over 1,600 free videos and podcasts.

This video is great! It did spark some new ideas and refreshed a few I had forgotten about.

For me it is not always coming up with the ideas that is the problem, it is the time to put them into action.

I recently attended a seminar on organization. The gentleman taught us to take our ideas and write them up. Then they go into a folder. As ways to get the ideas into action came up, you pull out the folder and add the information. Soon the ideas that could be brought to fruition came to the top.

    Thanks for the resource.

So true. I think that happens for a lot of entrepreneurs – we have so many ideas and the challenge is which to implement first (and sticking with one until it’s DONE). :)

Great tip on the idea folder. Thanks!
