Your Turn!
What can you do to be more YOU in your business?
What ways do you see your personality and uniqueness coming through in how you serve clients?
Spread the Love
Hi Michelle,
I loved the simple way you shared this message and your energetic personality on screen.
You make making videos look easy! Well done.
To your happiness & harmony,
Susan
Thanks Susan, I appreciate the feedback. :)
A lovely fresh and friendly video Michelle
Blessings for success
Dawn Alice
Thanks, Dawn. Appreciate you stopping by and commenting.
Sounds a good book n you did a great job on the video.
Hey Catherine, it was good. Lots of little ideas here and there I’ll be implementing. Thanks for stopping by.
Absolutely. You can’t win all the business. You have to be comfortable with yourself and your offering and the people that don’t buy you are not your target market anyway. You have to repel as well as attract.
Hey Chris — exactly! Be you and the right people will choose to work with you, the ones who aren’t a great fit will find the right service/product for them elsewhere. :)
A good post for the people who are depressed because of failure. This will really help them to achieve success. Will definitely suggest my friends to follow this.
Thanks for sharing this with your friends, Rahul.
Hey Michelle, great post! Great use of video to share your message. Being me in my blog is allowing the posts to come much easier and in flow! Thanks for the reminder. Best Regards, Wendy [Ultimate Blog Challenge]
Hey Wendy, It’s amazing how much easier is it to write once you decide to just be yourself, isn’t it? :)
I always enjoy reading your posts and am amazed at how easy you make doing a video look.
I need to show you all the behind the scenes version of these videos… but you know, I’m discovering that like blogging I’ve just got to relax, be me, and not worry about having it perfect. Lots of room to improve but I’m not going to let that stop me! ;)
Michelle, one of the very things I want to do this year is create more video of me being right in the front of the camera. And seeing you in front of your webcam being your authentic self was very encouraging for me to do just that. Thank you for that! I wish you much success in your journey in “just doing it!”.
I happen to know Suzanne Evans on a personal level when I worked with her team early on, plus she was my business coach back when I was a Virtual Assistant starting out. She definitely has a style of her own that will “kick you in the pants” to help kick-start your business. I may have to grab a copy of her book. Somehow, I missed that one.
Awesome, Aletha!
And how cool. I’ve never met Suzanne in person (yet) but she’s got style. :)
Agreed! Catch you back at the UBC! :)
Suzanne is an EXTRAordinary woman … “Hell Yeah.” Ditto to @londoncorporate – The Law of Polarity says everything has its opposite but some of us tend to focus on the side we don’t want and what you focus on definitely expands.
Thanks for the inspiration … perfection is an illusion, waiting for it to happen before you take action will keep you stuck.
It really does help to focus on the RIGHT things–what we want more of. :)
And I think you’re right, Adalia. Chasing that illusion will keep us forever in a state of want and lack. By accepting where we’re at and celebrating as we grow, we empower ourselves to succeed with imperfect action.
I really loved your personality, and I thought it was a good way to pay it forward, by sharing someone else’s book. Tag you’re it! Where’s your book?
My book? Still in my head. ;) Might make it to paper this year, we’ll see!
Don’t ever use a script Michelle, you’re a natural and don’t need it. You continue to inspire me.
Ha ha thanks Julia. I didn’t ramble too bad in this one. ;) Happy to serve as inspiration anytime. :)
Great recommendation! I have the book, its definitely “straight talk ” however, I love “Suzanne Evans” well worth the read! Great delivery on the video :-)
Yep, straight talk describes it well. I like that in a coach–being challenged to get real and just get things done.
What a great message Michelle, yes 2013 is the year fir shining and Shine and be bold is my theme for 2013 and i am planning to step up and create change in 2013 with my books, products and coaching
thank you
Shine and be bold — great theme, Suzie!
Michelle, you make a powerful point. Suzanne Evans may currently be the Queen of I Gotta Be Me Marketing! And, being comfortable with herself, she’s absolutely riveting. I forget where I first saw her commentary, but wow! I remember her!
Btw, you look so different in the video than in still shots– more feminine and personable, maybe? How delightful to see this side of you. Now, where did I put that link from you about putting your message in videos? (Care to share it again?) Thanks for a great share.
And I’m sharing it!
Thanks, Kebba, I appreciate the feedback. I’ve lost count of how many people have said similar things to me about my photos vs my videos. LOL It’s one of the main reasons I’m pushing myself a bit to do more video (and looking at rebranding and how to put more of my personality into everything). ;)
I think that’s the key — really being comfortable with yourself and confident in your value and your message. :)
Hmm… trying to remember which post or link that might be about videos. Do you happen to remember any other details about it that might help me figure out which one you’re looking for? Was it something I wrote or a recommendation of a product/service from someone else? Maybe Lou Bortone or James Wedmore?
Michelle!
Great reality check! It’s so easy to share this advice with others than to follow it through without thoughts of “how I appear” or “what will people say” .. thank you for saying exactly what we need to hear EVERY TIME & do it!
Yes, following through on our own advice is the tougher part… talk is cheap as they say. ;)
Great to “see” you Stacy! :)
I don’t think I can be more me, in the way I talk or write. I’m going to try to do more around my core message, and show the real me in the way I dress as well. But the last will require me to make some money first.
That’s a great place to be in, Linda, just being you! :)
I do not know how to up the volumn on my new computer. I could not understand much. (I do need hearing aids.) So, I waws your body language.
Enthusiasm, funny, enjoyable, happy to see me ( even thous you cann’t-I believed you.)
Geneally when one does photos, you want to dress not so busy and do wear sleeves (YOur arms are are nice.)
Lighting poor, but background was plain and not distracting.
You hair is nice and your smile would light up a room.
I like the way sent me to your site right away.
I was so pumped I put the book on my wish list and tweeted it.
thanks for sharing
Hi Malika, thanks for the feedback. I’ll keep that in mind. :)
Hope you’re able to figure out the volume on your new computer! New computers are always fun but sometimes the learning curve is a little challenging.
Thanks for tweeting. :)
Thanks for sharing the idea: If it’s helpful, do not need to wait until to be perfect then start. Take action to start is more important.
Yep, take action and just get things going! :)
“What can you do to be more YOU in your business?”
Corny jokes. I make them in my classes and private session all the time, but rarely in my writing. When I do include them in my writing, it sounds better and more like me.
Plus, it makes me happy and gives me a boost of energy that makes the writing go faster.
That’s worth a lot, Nadira! :) Writing is faster and more fun when we’re happy with how we’re sharing. :)
Hi Michelle,
Love it. I have definitely found myself trying to fit in and be like others as well as operate like others. I’m finding that it’s so much easier to operate in my own uniqueness. Thanks!
It is, isn’t it? Sometimes it takes us a while to figure that out, Geniece, but everything is so much easier once we do. :)
