Absolutely. You can’t win all the business. You have to be comfortable with yourself and your offering and the people that don’t buy you are not your target market anyway. You have to repel as well as attract.

I need to show you all the behind the scenes version of these videos… but you know, I’m discovering that like blogging I’ve just got to relax, be me, and not worry about having it perfect. Lots of room to improve but I’m not going to let that stop me! ;)

Michelle, one of the very things I want to do this year is create more video of me being right in the front of the camera. And seeing you in front of your webcam being your authentic self was very encouraging for me to do just that. Thank you for that! I wish you much success in your journey in “just doing it!”.

I happen to know Suzanne Evans on a personal level when I worked with her team early on, plus she was my business coach back when I was a Virtual Assistant starting out. She definitely has a style of her own that will “kick you in the pants” to help kick-start your business. I may have to grab a copy of her book. Somehow, I missed that one.

Suzanne is an EXTRAordinary woman … “Hell Yeah.” Ditto to @londoncorporate – The Law of Polarity says everything has its opposite but some of us tend to focus on the side we don’t want and what you focus on definitely expands.

Thanks for the inspiration … perfection is an illusion, waiting for it to happen before you take action will keep you stuck.

It really does help to focus on the RIGHT things–what we want more of. :)

And I think you’re right, Adalia. Chasing that illusion will keep us forever in a state of want and lack. By accepting where we’re at and celebrating as we grow, we empower ourselves to succeed with imperfect action.

Michelle, you make a powerful point. Suzanne Evans may currently be the Queen of I Gotta Be Me Marketing! And, being comfortable with herself, she’s absolutely riveting. I forget where I first saw her commentary, but wow! I remember her!

Btw, you look so different in the video than in still shots– more feminine and personable, maybe? How delightful to see this side of you. Now, where did I put that link from you about putting your message in videos? (Care to share it again?) Thanks for a great share.

    And I’m sharing it!

Thanks, Kebba, I appreciate the feedback. I’ve lost count of how many people have said similar things to me about my photos vs my videos. LOL It’s one of the main reasons I’m pushing myself a bit to do more video (and looking at rebranding and how to put more of my personality into everything). ;)

I think that’s the key — really being comfortable with yourself and confident in your value and your message. :)

Hmm… trying to remember which post or link that might be about videos. Do you happen to remember any other details about it that might help me figure out which one you’re looking for? Was it something I wrote or a recommendation of a product/service from someone else? Maybe Lou Bortone or James Wedmore?

Great reality check! It’s so easy to share this advice with others than to follow it through without thoughts of “how I appear” or “what will people say” .. thank you for saying exactly what we need to hear EVERY TIME & do it!

I don’t think I can be more me, in the way I talk or write. I’m going to try to do more around my core message, and show the real me in the way I dress as well. But the last will require me to make some money first.

“What can you do to be more YOU in your business?”

Corny jokes. I make them in my classes and private session all the time, but rarely in my writing. When I do include them in my writing, it sounds better and more like me.

Plus, it makes me happy and gives me a boost of energy that makes the writing go faster.
