The Easy Way to Create Your Own Infographics

By Michelle Shaeffer | 45 Comments

Wondering how you can get in on the infographic craze and create your own snazzy infographics to share?

I promised to share with you how I created the “Why Should You Join the Ultimate Blog Challenge?” infographic I shared on my blog over the weekend.

So here it is. No photoshop. No stock photography sites.

Enter Piktochart.

Piktochart, take a bow.

Your turn — get your free account here: http://piktochart.com

Or check out the awesome deal AppSumo is offering on a one year premium account here (deal’s only got a couple of hours left on 6/18/2012): http://www.appsumo.com/~ZD-Ra/

Have you created any infographics (with or without Piktochart)?  I’d love to see them!  Please share in the comments!

When I saw the Blog Challenge infographic I wondered if you were using Piktochart. I had just peeked at it briefly after Adela Rubio created her own infographic with it.

Haven’t used it yet, but am looking forward to coming up with something creative to give it a whirl.
You’re always one of the first to find cool tools like this.

I can’t wait to use this handy tool. I did actually hack an inforgraphic without it the other day.

I wish this would work for me. First it died in Firefox several times. I wasn’t able to change anything. Then I tried it in Internet Explorer, and after uploading just one picture (which I had shrunk using PhotoShop), it said I had reached my picture upload limit and wouldn’t let me do anything else.

I would love for this to work, but I have no idea why it hates me.

It’s great in principle, but not working for me on my Mac. Hmm….grr….It freezes up and won’t let me type in text. Maybe i’ll upgrade to PRO or try *gulp* on my PC :) Me so wants to do it though. Me tried.

    Thanks Michelle,

I was convinced I was not going to delve into infographics until something like this came along. I just didn’t want the headache of assembling them in Photoshop. I completed my first in about an hour as well. Part of the challenge is coming up with just the right content without getting too wordy (a challenge for us writers)!

I purchased this last weekend and am looking forward to playing with it. But just wanted to let you know that they seem to have one of those “always on sale” things going on. When I bought on June 30, it said the discount price of $49 was only good for another 8 hours. Today (7/3) it shows the discount price of $49 but nothing about the sale expiring at a particular date or time.

Yeah, that could be it. The page I got said only a few hours, too. Not crazy about that approach to sales, but the tool itself is great. :)

    SO USEFUL! Thanks!

I don’t know if this counts as an infographic, but I made a pseudo-venn diagram explaining how “belly dance” and “middle eastern dance” intersect.

(This will probably make very little sense to non-belly dancers, but I’m really proud of it!)
