Does Your Business Have a Fan Page?

By Michelle Shaeffer | 2 Comments

Facebook is the number-one social network destination worldwide and accounts for nearly six hours (5:52:00) per person with the average user logging in more than 19 times per month. Quoted from Mashable

Does your business have a Facebook fan page yet?  It’s a great way to promote yourself online!  It’s free and allows you an easy way to reach and interact with your clients and potential clients.

I read a great blog post today on Michele’s Scism’s blog about Facebook fan pages and the #1 thing you can do to make them easier to promote.  (To find that out, you’ll want to click over to her blog.)

What I loved were the suggestions she provided on ways to promote your fan page.  I finally set one up yesterday (yes, I’m behind!) for Michelle Shaeffer though I’ve had one for my hosting company Creo Communico LLC for a while now.  So now I get to jump into the fun of starting to promote.

If you don’t have a page yet, here’s the link to get you started: http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php

Come back and share your fan page URL in the comments once it’s ready.  I’d love to be your fan.  If you’ve already got a fan page, feel free to post it in the comments – and share with us what your favorite way to promote your page, too!

P.S.  If learning how to use social networking to build your business without being trapped into spending hours a day juggling all the different sites, profiles, and connections, and wondering if any of it’s working, I recommend Christine Gallagher’s 6 Simple Steps to Social Media Success System – check it out!

Hi Michelle, Good advice to anyone with a business. I find my Facebook Fanpage has become the best way to interact with my customers. People stop by and comment often and it’s an easy and fun way to stay engaged, get feedback and share new products. A word of warning. Facebook has very strict rules about holding contests and giveaways etc. They require approval first http://news.cnet.com/8301-13577_3-10397757-36.html

I will fan your new page asap!
