Homework? But I Graduated a Decade Ago!

By Michelle Shaeffer | 6 Comments

Okay, it’s been more than a decade.  But shhhh….!

As part of the 31 Days Blog Challenge, I spent time today reading what some very smart people have written about blogging and business online.

They’re brilliant so I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite gems.  I recommend not just these posts, but pretty much anything on their blogs (subscribe!).

If you worry about being perfect, definitely take time to read this blog post and watch the video.
  • 10 Reasons Readers Don’t Leave Comments by Liz Strauss
This is a great post to think about as you work to get comments from your readers – think from their perspective and make it easy, inviting, and safe to comment.

I’d have to say that #56 on Seth’s list really says it all, doesn’t it? And I absolutely loved reading Liz Strauss’s post from 2006! What she wrote still holds true today. No doubt about it. Liz left no stone unturned and I’m sure she struck a chord with lots and lots of blog readers who DON’T post comments.

It’s amazing how much things stay the same – even when technology changes so fast, isn’t it? The basics always apply.

Excellent resources, as usual. You may want to shift the links to open in a new tab or window, however. Right now, people have to remember to get back for the next link after chasing how many trails.

Yes, I’m glad to be out of school and able to choose my own topics for study – assigning myself homework makes it more fun. :)
