Hi Michelle,
These are absolutely doable and successful strategies for growing our lists. I want to add that once we have our lists we must follow up and continue to let our subscribers know what we are doing and have to offer.
Thanks for a great video full of useful tips.
Great point, Flora. It’s not worth much if we build it and then don’t stay in touch and our subscribers forget about us!
Great tips, Michelle! Love the tshirt :D too! I am working on a few new “freebies”. I really liked what you did with your Pinterest webinar — that you had it prerecorded, made a page and sent people to it. I think I can ease into something like that for my “first” webinar. I am just now getting the hang of screencasts HAHA
I really do appreciate everything that you do for all of us! Thanks, Michelle!
Thanks, it’s a much easier way to present video like that. Each option has it’s benefits but the pre-recorded is simpler!
For anyone reading the comments and wondering, you can find that Pinterest webinar here:

I’m with Kimby. Creating the webinar offer without the hooplah of the “live event” is very appealing. And, I love the teeshirt! These are great tips Michelle. Can’t wait to share them.
Thanks. Gotta love ThinkGeek.com ;)
Michelle,
Great tips. I love the idea of hosting challenges. Lord knows I’ve joined my share of them. Now I’m thinking I’m going to host one myself.
Thanks
Awesome! I’ve really enjoyed hosting challenges — it’s a great way to get people into action. :)
Thank you Michelle. Great info and tips as always. Count me in with those who love the idea of creating the webinar without the live event. That’s for me.
Yep. So much less pressure for me and less technology to deal with. I recorded that webinar at probably 3am when my house was quiet and when I messed up the first “take” it was no problem, I just started again. Uploaded it to Amazon S3 to host, embedded into a page on my blog and it was ready for viewing. Then just setup the opt-in and announce. :)
Michelle,
Awesome job!
I really need to build my list up for PeterTrapasso.com and y newly launched wine blog VinoPete.com too! I love the idea of “Partnering” and will be studying your video.
cheers,
Pete
Thanks Pete. Partnering with others has been one of the biggest keys to my growth over the last two years — and it’s a heck of a lot more fun than working alone. :)
Hi Michelle!
Great content, as always. I am going to watch the entire video again and take notes so that I can implement what you have shared. Your “list” is KING – and without it, you really don’t have an online business.
Thanks again for sharing your wisdom,
Lisa
P.S. LOVE the plug-in you are using here on your blog. Do you mind sharing the name?
It’s a pretty critical piece! :)
Which plugin? The pop over or another one?
Great ideas. Webinars sound a bit scary though but I know they work for list building because it’s how I get on lists. Partnering with others is also I have a hard time with as I’m not always sure how to approach someone with my idea. Love your shirt :)
Thanks. :) Put on a superhero shirt and it makes anything easier (video, webinars…) ;)
amazing tips i must say ……hope these all works for my blog too ……..
Thanks, Rajkumar. They’ve worked well for me, and the more I build on them the better they work.
Hey Michelle
Wow! What can I say? This is an awesome post. Straight from the title, you have people hooked. I really need to start coming back more often. Your blog seems to just go from strength to strength.
I have a new blog. I think it’s about time that I owned davidverney.com – so now I have it, and I have been using an incentive of winning a $25 Amazon voucher. I think that’s pretty universal and my blog isn’t only about business. Okay, it’s mainly related to business, but as well as that I wanted somewhere to rant about something random once in a while too. I am one of those people who likes to write his thoughts and inspirations down. I also have a great theme that I really love.
Please feel free to stop by some time and check it out.
Your friend (for life – whether I visit your blog often or not) across the pond.
David
Hey David, great to see you back and commenting – thanks for stopping by! :)
I’ll pop over and check it out. Blogging is a great way to share thoughts/inspirations/whatever we’d like.
That was awesome, Michelle! I’m going back to look at my blog stats right now for my most popular posts.
It’s an easy way to see what readers seem to be liking — which can give us clues as to what a good freebie would be. :)
I think the best advice you share here Michelle is to stay focused on one thing. I found that to be my stumbling block when starting out. Wanted to do everything at once. By focusing in on one thing at a time you gain a higher rate of success.
Your video is a wonderful reminder and I am happy to share this with others.
Focus makes a huge difference. I can’t remember where I saw it, but I love this:
F – follow
O – one
C – course
U – until
S – successful
Hi Michelle,
Great video, you are such a natural. :-) I love your tips for growing one’s list. The idea of focus and not having to be perfect can really get someone motivated to get it done.
Thanks for your tips
Cindy
Sometime I’ll have to release the “behind the scenes” version of my videos… hee hee
Thanks for the reminder that it’s a gradual process. I’ve done each of your tips with the exception of a challenge. One of my fave partners is YOU! Have always enjoyed the webinars we’ve co-hosted.
May be time for me to come up with a new freebie and generate some new blood.
Thanks again my friend. ~Debra
I always have fun with creating new freebies to share, it’s a great way to see what my community is interested in and continuing segmenting my list more accurately as well. :)
And thanks–I’ve loved our webinars, too!
Michelle,
I love this idea! Do you think a challenge works for every niche?
I think it’s worth exploring for any niche – the angle may be different and the way you frame the challenge may not be a “challenge” – but the idea of getting people into a group to take specific actions and create a result, absolutely. :)
