Got a question this week about cPanel backups so I’ve answered it in a short video. Here’s how to grab a cPanel backup of your hosting account, and why you may want to make this one of your regular routines.

I was looking at my c panel back up the other day but I was a little confused. I tend to have that problem a lot being a newbie. I understand the back up process now thanks to you. Very helpful information. Thanks.

Let’s suppose someone makes the backups — and then his blog (not mine!!!) is hacked, can he re-upload the files (at least, some of them, like design, posts, etc) to a new domain with relative ease?
I hope this won’t happen to anybody, but I just wanted to know…
It’s possible with some tweaking. You’d need to upload the files and the database, then modify it a little. In the wp-config you’d have to change settings, and in the database tables you’d need to find and change the URL. But it could be done with a new domain.
