It does take courage, doesn’t it? It’d be so much easier to just follow the path everyone expects of us instead of striking out on our own to try to build our own businesses and succeed at what we want to create.

I’m not usually one for animal movies. So I was pretty surprised when I went to see Secretariat a while back and really enjoyed it. I wasn’t familiar with the story before seeing the movie. Great, inspirational message.
Hmm. I just posted this quote on my Facebook page the other day: “The hardest challenge is to be yourself in a world where everyone is trying to make you somebody else” (E.E. Cummings). I love this post and it’s part of a theme for me over the last few months. I might just have to use a few of these quotes :).

If you read my post today, after 20 years cutting hair, this owner who hired me told me I do it all wrong and to do it HER way. I look at it this way…yes I was willing to learn new stuff, but I am authentic and cannot do it her way. So, I took on this challenge and she fired me the same day she hired me.
I’m sorry to hear it didn’t work out well, Jackie, but something better’s out there for you. :) It can be tough to get people to understand that playing to others strengths is the best way to succeed.
Sounds like a great movie – but sadly it is not likely to be released down under, so I have read. Shame. It looks like one I’d love to go and see, but I will just have to download it sometime.
