Creative Content Ideas

Are you leveraging your content?

If you’re blogging, writing articles, sending out a newsletter, or even just answering customer questions via email, Twitter, or Facebook, you’ve got CONTENT that you can get CREATIVE with to get more mileage from!

Don’t just use that content once.  If you spent the time to write up that blog post or help a customer use your products better in a detailed email, you can reuse that same content (or with slight tweaks) in other ways.

There’s the usual list:

  • blog posts
  • newsletter articles
  • articles for reprint (like EzineArticles.com and WAHM-Articles.com)
  • FAQ page
  • customer welcome kit
  • instruction sheets
  • you tube videos
  • audio blogs
  • facebook fan page content
  • free reports
  • tweets
  • ebooks
  • forum posts
  • …etc

But if you’re looking for a great list of creative ideas to jumpstart even more brainstorming (because there are always more ways to leverage what you’ve already created!) check out this list from Jimmy D. Brown:

http://www.jimmybrown.com/52-plr-streams-of-income/

It’s actually for how to use and re-use PLR (private label rights) content but you can use these ideas as they are or with small twists to leverage your own content, too!

Question: What’s your favorite way to transform one piece of  content (like a blog post, or an answer to a frequently asked question) to build more mileage and exposure from it?

Challenge: Pick one thing you’ve written recently, find a good way to repurpose it, then come share in the comments!

Whew! Jimmy D. Brown has sure got this concept wired! He’s the king when it comes to all the possible uses for PLR. You’ve provided an admirable list to begin with, Michelle, and Jimmy’s list is the icing on the cake.

What Martha said is really true – leveraging is a savvy technique for creating content.

Thanks for getting everyone’s wheels spinning!

I have a little system of getting mileage out of my content. It all starts with the blog post.

While I’m thinking of it, what does everyone think of article re-writing software? I recently had a “mentor” pitch me on a particular product but I’m very skeptical. Thoughts? Is this a way to get more mileage with our content?

I haven’t used re-writing software myself… I’ve seen it used and it did some strange things to the articles. But that might have been a poorer version, there may be better ones out there. :)

I found this discussion really interesting:
