Does Working from Home Really Work?

By Michelle Shaeffer | 6 Comments

Over the past 10 years or so, I’ve had so many women tell me how lucky I am to be able to work from home.  And I do count myself blessed.  But it’s not just luck and it’s not just me!

There are thousands of women (and men) successfully building their own businesses from home.  We’re from all different walks of life, and all creating different types of businesses for different reasons.

One of my projects for 2012 is a brand new website I’ve created to showcase the possibilities and the women who are making it work: www.SuccessfulWorkAtHomeWomen.com

If you’re looking for a way to work from home that will work for you and your family, you’ll find inspiration and ideas.  If you’re already working from home and wondering whether you can be successful or just looking for tips and advice to help you along the journey, you’ll find examples of women who are proving every day that it can be done.

Click here to watch the video on YouTube if you can’t see it above: http://youtu.be/j4eus5CC_3k

And, if you’re a woman working from home, I’d love to feature YOUR profile! Just submit it with the “Get Featured” link on the site.

Thanks, Kimberly, I appreciate that. I love projects like this because they’re really inspiring for me personally. It’s easy to feel a bit alone when we’re working from home and just knowing I’m part of such an awesome group encourages me. :)

Marvelous darling, simply marvelous. I enjoyed being a mom entrepreneur, the internet was around but I wasn’t aware of it. My oldest is 35 … time flies when you’re having fun and I mean that literally. Your site is going to be inspirational and practical. Work at home moms will get tremendous value from your site and if they connect, participate and use the valuable information, success will break down their doors to get in.

    KUDOS!!!

That’s awesome, Adalia. I’m hoping to get a wide variety of women profiled to share the offline opportunities as well as the online ones. There are so many great ways to work from home. :)

I’ve been working from home for just over a year now and it’s been the best year of my life vocationally. The stress from everyday 9-5 drudgery has melted away and I’m having a blast.

There are challenges at home too but nothing too bad.

It’s a different set of challenges–but also filled with amazing rewards. :)
